Coppélia is not to be seen with much concern about the story, which is in most of the "classic" versions quite stupid... However, Ronald Hynd has cleverly set a funny story and the dancers of English National Ballet gave their best to make it good. They really seem to enjoy it, Arionel Vargas is so funny. Acting by Francisco Bosch as inkeeper and Daniel Jones as Swanilda's father is sweet.
Sometimes, Elena Glurdjidze seems to be the Prima ballerina of all... She's so technical and easy, her Swanilda is the best seen for long...
